STS Internship Program, Belgium.
The intention of this program is to provide real-world internship experience. It supports students with topics related to simulation software, testing systems, and customer practices. Domains include system dynamics, structural integrity, flow-thermal analysis, control systems, reliability, acoustics, and energy efficiency. Additionally, the internships align with the academic programs of the most prestigious technical universities in Belgium and the EU. This ensures support for ongoing innovation activities and hands-on experience with simulation models.
At the conclusion of the program, interns become part of the SIEMENS Software Early Careers network. This will give them visibility for our graduate programs and associate positions globally.
The research goal of: Perceived AV comfort assessment from proving ground test data
The goal of this project is to explore and identify the critical factors influencing user acceptance of automated vehicles, with a particular focus on perceived comfort. This involves investigating the psychological and physiological elements that affect user comfort during interactions with automated vehicles. The project will specifically analyze how different driving styles—such as speed, acceleration profiles, and proximity to roadside objects or other actors—impact user comfort in complex driving scenarios. By contributing to the understanding of these factors, the project aims to enhance insights into user comfort, an area with limited existing research.
