The Interventional Cardiology Rad Tech Transition Program is a hospital-based cardiac procedural area training program which includes in-person and virtual classroom time along with precepted hours.The program is 24 weeks in length. There is no PTO for the duration of the program.
Upon successful completion of the program, trainees will promote into a full time Cath Lab/EP Rad Tech 1 position at the Cath/EP Lab at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla. Scripps does reserve the right to make placements based on current business needs and any other appropriate factors.
Interventional Cardiology departments are responsible for diagnosing and treating patients with conditions such as coronary artery disease, electrical issues such as a-fib, valvular regurgitation with structural heart implants, and improving ejection fraction with the implantation of cardiac pacemakers.
What you'll do:
Under general supervision, the CV Radiologic Technologist operates digital fluoroscopy equipment in accordance with guidelines outlined in Title 17. Oversees the performance of quality control procedures. Enforces principles of radiation safety and practices radiation safety procedures. Assists the cardiologist during diagnostic and interventional procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization or Electrophysiology Lab. Assists with the preparation of the patients for diagnostic and interventional procedures. Prepares, operates, and ensures the proper functioning of equipment associated with the performance of these procedures. Monitors and logs events, including the performance of hemodynamic calculations and/or intracardiac measurements. Operates digital processing equipment and performs quality control procedures as required. Participates in performance improvement activities. Assists with the patient transportation, as needed.Application Period: 2/9/2025 - 3/8/2025
