Description:
Holy Cross Health is seeking an experienced Interventional Procedure Nurse to be a key member of the department. The Interventional Procedures Nurse/Patient Care Specialist (PCS) is responsible for the direct and indirect care of patients in the acute care setting. This nurse will be responsible for the IR patient prior, during and after the procedure, administering medications and assisting during procedures.
Holy Cross Health has a mixed lab for Cath lab and Interventional Radiology. There are 5 labs. Procedures performed on the IR side include IR, Vascular, Neuro and emergency Thrombectomy cases.
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible and accountable for:
Precepting and mentoring staff in application of the nursing process to plan and manage the care of patients with non-complex and complex biopsychosociospiritual needs.
Providing clinical teaching and supervision and directing the most appropriate patient assignment for new and experienced staff.
Facilitating and participating in staff development, including orientation and training.
Participating in performance evaluation and management including verbal coaching and counseling.
Participating in the development and/or revision of patient care standards and pathways.
Improving patient outcomes through application of evidence based findings to advance nursing practice.
Developing patient and staff education materials and serves as a consultant for patient and staff education needs.
Proactively identifying areas of concern and collaborates with the health care team to problem solve and find solutions.
Promoting unit specific certifications and advances in education, and participation in the clinical advancement program.
Developing and monitoring quality improvement issues and assures staff team members are competent to provide care for patients.
The authority to exercise these responsibilities often requires the use of independent judgement.

What you will need
Required:
Graduation from an accredited nursing program
BSN required. MSN preferred.
Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
BLS certification (through American Heart Association)
Minimum of 5 years of specialty specific experience in an acute care setting
Advanced computer skills to include data entry and retrieval, including Microsoft specialty products
Reads, writes, speaks and comprehends English language.
Ability to effectively communicate complex and comprehensive information thoroughly and succinctly
Pay range: $40.99 – $61.49
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
