Position Summary:
The Interventional Radiology Tech provides health care services to assist in interventional radiologic procedures to diagnosis and/or treat patients. Assists the interventional radiologist in performance of multi-modaility procedures and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Position is considered to be most senior radiologic technologist role and thusly performs most complex and highest acuity radiologic procedures. Must work in an inpatient and outpatient setting.

Graduate of Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited Radiology ProgramMontana Licensure (Radiology Technologist)American Registry of Radiological Technology (ARRT)American Heart Association BLSMinimum 2 years of previous complex radiography experience including a minimum of one (1) year of experience in diagnostic imagingwith angiographic techniques and imagingCompentencies in Interventional Radiology Procedures with eligibility to be board certifiedPreferred: Certification in Vascular InterventionalEssential Job Functions:
Performs radiological exams and special procedures as requested by medical staffPerforms US and CT guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures alongside interventional radiologistPerforms angiographic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures alongside interventional radiologistPerforms injections as required for procedural protocols.Performs fluoroscopic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures alongside radiology providerMay assist with patient education for prep and post care of procedure, site, and implant managementPerforms post procedural image reconstruction as necessary.Assists radiology nursing with fluoroscopically guided PICC placementsPerforms c-arm fluoroscopy exams in the OR as requested by surgeonsCompletes documentation required for proper interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of examsPerforms ancillary duties required to maintain proper distribution, billing, and archival of exams and proceduresRetrieves written orders and related health information Participates in the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of the hospital quality indicatorsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
