The Interventional Radiology Technician 2 provides high-quality imaging using various modalities such as neurovascular and endovascular angiography examinations. Collaborates with teams to collect data pre/post-procedure and prepare patients for procedures in Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology (CVIR). Safely and competently operates all radiographic, processing, and inventory equipment in CVIR. Acts as a Liaison between physician, family, and other interdepartmental units. Participates with teams in unit assignment quality assurance projects.

Shift: Full Time, (4) 10-hour shifts 

Hours: 7:30 am to 18:30 pm

Location: Alexandria Hospital

Job Responsibilities

Assists RNs to accurately explain procedures to patients and families to ease anxiety. Troubleshoots equipment effectively and places service calls to Biomedical when necessary. Anticipates procedure flow and works with other team members to produce the highest quality care. Provides a safe environment and identifies hazards immediately. Follows unit protocols to take corrective actions as needed. Demonstrates proficiency in imaging modalities in Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology such as digital, laser printing, and cut film.

Requirements for Consideration:

Graduate of an accredited school of Radiography; Associate or higher degree preferred ARRT registry in Vascular Interventional (VI), Cardiovascular (CV) or Cardiovascular Interventional(CI) required. Minimum one year of work experience as a Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology Technologist. Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association
