Job Description
We are seeking an Inventory Accountant to join our team. This role primarily involves processing tasks such as journal entries and accounting processes. The successful candidate will handle general accounting tasks related to period-end closing, SOX/financial statement audit support, and other financial operations accounting work and compliance. The role ensures that financial results related to contract revenue recognition, inventory valuation, and at-risk contracts are reported accurately and in accordance with GAAP, corporate, and regulatory requirements.
ResponsibilitiesPerform general accounting tasks related to period-end closing, SOX/financial statement audit support, and other financial operations accounting work.Ensure financial results related to contract revenue recognition, inventory valuation, and at-risk contracts are reported accurately and timely in accordance with GAAP, corporate, and regulatory requirements.Prepare and/or review monthly and quarterly working papers relating to inventory and risk contracts, ensuring proper classification and no material misstatements.Conduct variance analysis for P&L and Balance Sheet.Maintain a solid understanding of the business, its transactional and contractual obligations, and become directly involved in specific business issues and their resolution.Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations.Prepare statutory compliance reporting.Participate in special projects, committees, and other accounting duties/projects as assigned.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsExperience with journal entries and processing of accounting transactions.Proficiency in MS Excel, including pivot tables.1-3 years of relevant experience in an accounting or finance role.Reconciliation experience.Understanding of bookkeeping competencies.Excellent mathematical skills.Time management skills.Additional Skills & Qualifications3-5 years of relevant experience preferred.Advanced proficiency in accounting software; Oracle is an asset.Work Environment
This is a flexible role with working hours from 8 AM to 5 PM, with options to adjust to 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The position allows remote work up to 3 days a week after a 4-week training period. The work environment includes a busy year-end period. The accounting team consists of 9 members located in Canada and Texas. No travel or leadership experience is required. The role offers 9 paid holidays during the contract.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $33.00/hr.
