Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Inventory Accountant to join our team in Memphis, Tennessee. The role involves handling a variety of core accounting responsibilities, with a particular focus on inventory valuation and plant expenses. The successful candidate will be expected to utilize their in-depth knowledge of accounting principles to manage and maintain the accuracy and efficiency of accounting processes within the department.
Responsibilities:
• Analyzing balance sheets, assets, and expense accounts to provide detailed explanations for variances.
• Utilizing ERP and expert systems to obtain necessary information for research and reconciliation processes.
• Running daily, weekly, and monthly reports to ensure timely resolution of reconciling items.
• Developing and maintaining updated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support departmental tasks and processes.
• Assisting with internal and external audits by preparing client schedules and worksheets as needed.
• Demonstrating proficiency in inventory, manufacturing, and accrual accounting procedures.
• Developing driver-based budgets for plant operations.
• Collaborating closely with onsite teams and participating in onsite meetings to drive departmental objectives.
• Demonstrating proficiency in the use of Excel, Access, and other office tools.
• Managing and maintaining accountability for the timeliness and efficiency of month-end activities, variance analysis, key inputs, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Requirements
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Operations Accountant role or similar.
• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems.
• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions.
• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Knowledge of Accrual Accounting procedures.
• Proven experience in Auditing.
• Prior experience in a Manufacturing Company or Manufacturing Plants is desirable.
• Understanding of Manufacturing Cost Accounting and Manufacturing Variance.
• Experience in conducting Annual Inventory and Inventory Accounting.
• Skills in Inventory Analysis, Inventory Audits, and Inventory Reconciliation.
• Must be able to handle Month End Close procedures.
• Proven experience in Budget monitoring, Budgeting, and Budgeting - Forecasting.
• Experience in managing an Operating Budget and Operational Budgets.
• Ability to perform Account Analysis and general Analysis.
• Proficient in Analysis Techniques and Data Analysis.
