Title: Inventory Accounting Analyst
Location: Calamba, 4027 Laguna, Philippines
The role will ensure inventory costs are properly accounted for, inventory management controls are consistently complied with, and risks associated are timely assessed and managed. This post will partner with key stakeholders to attain inventory management metrics and goals. The role will cater global support requirement to APAC, LATAM, CAN, EU and US regions.
Key Accountabilities
Support new business unit set-up as the local lead focusing on inventory accounting. Scope includes pre-launch coordination with IT and local business partners on system set-up, end-to-end process system testing and post-validation after deployment.Run weekly and mid-month calculation to assess any material impact for the month and verify any unusual inventory costing and transactions. Reports includes:Excess and Obsolescence Inventory ReservePurchase Price Variance AnalysisAEC Impact assessmentPrepare and analyse standard cost calculation. Activity also includes:Running cost reviews highlighting drivers of the movement.Coordinating with IT to load standard cost timely. Do validation by checking the cost loaded on the system.Participate in month-end closing activities focusing on reports preparation and analysis. Scope includes but not limited to:Calculation of Inventory Reserves and necessary analysisPreparation of Cost of Goods Sold report and corresponding analyses.Do Purchase Price Variance Analysis report clearly articulate the drivers of cost movements.Reconcile inventory and other account balances using DAX system and Blackline; and propose adjustment entries as necessary.Prepare and input journal entries as needed.Work with global counterpart in identifying reportorial requirements (i.e. savings calculation and costing simulation), process improvement or system enhancements resulting from any strategic business changes.Communicate with both external and internal auditors for inventory related enquiries.Adhere to SOX audit requirements by constantly checking compliance with identified controls – key and non-key controls. Prepare, maintain, and update SOX related documentation.Drives and participates on process improvements, projects, and initiatives with cross-functional involvement.Support global management on ad hoc requestsQualifications
Education: Degree in Finance & Accounting
Experiences, Skillsets & Personal Competencies
5+ year of experience in in Finance and Accounting with strong background on Inventory and Cost.Experience in the wireless, high tech, manufacturing, or insurance industryMicrosoft DAX system experienceCompetencies:
