Basic Job Functions: Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Maintain warehouse inventory stock.   Coordinate weekly, monthly and quarterly cycle counts for shipping warehouse and trim inventory (Potential to extend to all ‘other materials’, i.e. paint, pack, weld items).   Rotate inventory stock, following First In-First Out (FIFO).   Coordinate with the Purchasing department on special color coils remaining after jobs have been completed that can be sold.   Coordinate with the Quality, Purchasing, and Finance departments on disposition of obsolete or rejected material.   Establish processes and procedures to promote organization and streamline the flow of inventory to help reduce processing errors and increase efficiency.   Coordinate the disposal or sale of any obsolete parts or unused ‘job specific’ items.   Able to work a flexible schedule as needed.   Overnight travel for training will be required. 

 

Additional Job Functions:

Daily visual tracking of warehouse stock levels and coordinating potential concerns with the warehouse buyer.   Advise receiving on warehouse “best practices” for initial receipt and storage of items.   Investigate inventory and receipt discrepancies between purchasing, receiving and vendor.   Oversee the physical phasing out or conversion of parts during the transition from old to new.
  Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing inventory related position Must be able to read measuring tape and micrometer MS office experience Ability to achieve forklift and overhead crane certification
