General Summary:
A DC Inventory Control Clerk I is responsible for assisting with all matters concerning the accurate handling and tracking of inventory. Position duties are performed on the operating floor using experience, material handling equipment, RF scanners, and the warehouse management system (Korber) to investigate, verify, process, and resolve inventory-related tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Follow defined set of processes to key appropriate inventory adjustments to add, modify, or delete inventory in WMS to ensure ongoing accuracy
• Inspect, classify, research, and prepare returned or cancelled product for relocation and resale
• Physically verify contents, quantity and quality of recently received or existing product
• Scan and enter case counts, styles, and SKUs into WMS
• Conduct accurate cycle counts and audits of inventory locations per handheld device/forms in the warehouse and make system updates as required
• Perform location count checks and cycle counts as directed
• Research and locate mispicked or missing product
• Assist in reconciling inventory discrepancies, following up with investigative research to determine the root cause of the discrepancy
• Make recommendations towards improving the accuracy of counts/audits
• Operate material handling equipment (powered and/or nonpowered) to research and resolve inventory discrepancies
• Assist with consolidations, unkitting, value added services, and quality control matters
• Produce daily/weekly/monthly reports as required
• Responsible for maintaining and organizing individual workload as assigned to ensure all responsibilities are addressed in an appropriate and timely manner
• Recommend, create and refine processes, tools, and templates that can be utilized across the department
• Responsible for the proper handling and safe use of all Company owned property, tools, and equipment, including PPE, power equipment, etc.
• Conducts duties in compliance with OSHA safety standards and location specific policies, paying special attention to pedestrian/equipment traffic
• Communicates problems/concerns, especially regarding safety, security, building control, or personnel, to the appropriate DC Operations Supervisor and/or Area Manager
• Other duties as instructed by leadership, including various duties performed within DC Material Handler, DC Processor, and/or DC Power Equipment Operator roles, which the associate is trained and skilled to perform
Required Skills:
• Expert understanding of system directed processes, with the strong ability to train new and existing associates
• Ability to implement process improvement initiatives
• Advanced PC skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Ability to perform duties independently, and as part of a team, with minimal supervision or guidance
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, propose resolutions, and communicate the outcome to the appropriate operational partners and site leadership
• Strong analytical, time management, multi-tasking, organizational, detail, follow-up, and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of proper business communication etiquette, and effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leadership
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, propose resolutions, and communicate the outcome to the appropriate operational partners and site leadership
• Expert understanding of system directed processes, with a strong understanding of inventory flow across all systems
• Strong analytical ability to quickly recognize potential inventory issues and facilitate operational adjustments to correct.
Minimum Experience:
• 1-2 years preferred, in supply chain, warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment
• Previous experience with specific systems actively utilized within the department and facility strongly desired, including HighJump/ Korber Warehouse Management System(s), ABS, Jesta
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certification to operate powered equipment
