Inventory Control Coordinator

Job Purpose

Job Function:

Reports to the Materials Superintendent and collaborates closely with the Operations, Receiving, Customer Service, and Material planning personnel. 


Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

•    Know and comply with the Safety Regulations of the Company, to prevent accidents, avoid acts and unsafe conditions
•    Manage inventory cycle counts and inventory quantity/accuracy
•    Maintain relevant inventory information in Oracle
•    Resolve inventory variances (Negatives/Absolutes) within the warehouse
•    Assist various parts of the organization in locating materials
•    Complete root cause analysis and investigation into large variances
•    Review and Audit sub inventory locations
•    Prepare for audits and walk auditors through the cycle counting process
•    Maintain cycle count data to reflect completed/non-completed counts
•    Accomplish KPI’S target and create action plans for the ones that are not in target.
•    Promote effective Health, Safety, and Environmental programs and practices, ensuring that high standards of site safety are established and met 
•    Establish and implement standard cycle counting practices by implementing and executing the Dana Operating System, DOS. 
•    Improve and develop organizational capabilities through effective performance management and planning/utilization of human and capital resources. 
•    Create and update reports to track cycle counting targets and opportunities.
•    Support communication flow between different departments giving the tools they need from the cycle counting team.
•    Ensure that the systems are being used correctly for proper inventory management. (Oracle EBS)
•    Cycle counting personnel development and succession.
•    Maintains effective communication with all departments.
 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

•    3+ years related work experience in a role of supervisor Inventory, or Materials Management
•    Thorough knowledge of MRP, inventory control and internal controls.
•    Ability to represent the company effectively in dealing with suppliers and logistic companies.
•    Demonstrated experience with widely accepted MRP systems and applications software. (Oracle EBS preferred)
•    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations under stress.
•    Working knowledge of various supply chain strategies including, JIT, Kanban with a thorough understanding of production and inventory control principles.
•    Ability to create, track and meet schedules at a multi-task level along with project management skills.
•    Proven analytical/technical aptitude.
•    Ability to take initiative, to maintain confidentiality, to meet deadlines.
•    Experience with Automotive JIT systems, FIFO, and pull systems.
•    Work overtime (including weekend) and travel as required
