Standard BioTools is looking for a Summer Intern to work on general operation improvement duties.  Responsibilities include accurately and efficiently performing daily functions needed for order outflow and inflow within the reagent manufacturing group.  The successful candidate will be highly reliable, detail oriented, organized, with the professionalism to work in a production laboratory environment.  He or she is expected to work both independently and in conjunction with co-workers.  A team player is essential as this position will work very closely with colleagues to maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment and can connect with interdisciplinary groups within the organization.

Description:

Document processes, collect and analyze data and interact with employees and leaders Revise Manufacturing Batch Records (MBR) with the template providedRevise label template document to reflect the rebranding featureUpdate Bill of Materials (BOM) based on the information provided and upload to systemAssist consumable inventory management by physically moving boxes and tracking quantities and locationsPerform cycle counts of raw material (RM), Working in Progress (WIP) and finished goods (FG)Perform other duties as required to support operation improvementMaintain and organize the work area to keep a clean, orderly and safe work environment 

Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in a university programBackground in Biology, Biochemistry or similar Life Science is preferredProficient in MS Office applicationsBasic data mining and analysis skill is preferredExcellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work in a team environment as well as independentlyAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environmentAttention to detail is essential

Additional Requirements:

Ability to sit, stand, move about the facilityWork performed in a combination of shipping, manufacturing and office environmentsAbility to quickly familiarize with products and part numbers
