POSITION SUMMARY:

The inventory control specialist is a centralized function reporting into the Warehouse management team. The specialist is cross-trained to perform a wide range of inventory control functions within all manufacturing areas of Milford Operations. The specialist also maintains inventory accuracy in all storage locations, ensures proper consumption of all raw materials, and ensures proper system reporting related to finished goods production.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Proficient in use of SAP application related to all aspects of inventory management. Work with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Power Point and ability to perform analysis and utilize charts in Excel. Maintain high target levels of accuracy in all aspects of the job related to inventory quantities and financial impacts for the production materials. Perform cycle counts, manufacturing transactions and inventory management tasks within SAP. Report, track, investigate and reconcile material variance issues. Monitor and report actual scrap compared to allowable scrap levels within bills of materials to production management. Develop system support to reduce failures and promote efficiency. Develop clear understanding of area manufacturing processes and identify opportunity areas. Demonstrate ability to perform in a leadership role to support co-workers in achieving department and business goals. Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reporting tools to review and analyze critical metrics within the production areas as needed. Interact with cross-functional groups in operations including; production, quality assurance, logistics and warehousing.

 

 

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Some travel may be required to perform cycle counting and inventory reconciliation within 3rd party storage locations, as needed. Some work outside of normal 1st shift operations may be required to support training or other project initiatives within the operations departments.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED.

 

Salary Range:  LG8 - $20.96 - $35.76 per hour, based on experience.
