Inventory Control Specialist

Who will you be working with?

This position is located in our small, but growing, manufacturing and overhaul/repair facility located in Greenville. We primarily manufacture and overhaul components for the transit industry (subway and commuter rail). We have been in operation for over 50 years and offer fantastic benefits and stable work environment.

How will you make a difference?

As a member of Transtech, you will be Responsible for Supporting the Warehouse Manager to maintain control of all inventory items purchased and produced.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Supports audit schedule for all targets on an everyday basis.Supports and maintains compliance to all policies and procedures and manage inventory for organization.Performs random audit on various shipping invoices according to company policies and procedures.Prepares and reconciles all daily cycle count processes and prepare reports within timeframe.Always maintains and updates oracle inventory on regular basis and ensure accuracy of same.Supports all inventory issues and ensure effective resolution for all departments.Assist/lead with the coordination of physical inventory counting.Prepare reports for safety stock and inventory gaps and maintain records of number of items.Responsible for E&O evaluation, segregation, and disposal.Support plant cost reduction teams, analyze data and generate inventory related reports. Review records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and to determine adequate stock levels.  Recommend remedial actions for reported Excess and Obsolete stock.

 

Education/Work Experience Requirements

College Degree or equivalent work experience preferredThree years in inventory control in a manufacturing environmentKnowledge of Supply Chain ManagementComputer experience with MS Office and MRP systems. Attention to detail and accuracy is a mustAbility to work independently and with coworkersAbility to lift 35 pounds.Complete various types of transactions within the MRP system.Strong interpersonal relationship skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Software

Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an indoor manufacturing environment.  The employee will work in areas exposed to production activities to include but not limited to production machinery, assembly operations, overhead cranes usage, and forklift traffic.  The employee will be required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to workplace hazards.

 

Mental Demands: While performing the duties of this class, the employee is regularly required to use written and oral communication skills; read and interpret data, information and documents; analyze and solve problems; use math and mathematical reasoning; observe and interpret situations; learn and apply new information or skills; and interact with other employees, customers and vendors.
