About the Program
Palladium International Pty Ltd is the Managing Contractor for the Australian Government’s Humanitarian Logistics Capability (HLC). The objective of the Humanitarian Logistics Capability is to facilitate the timely, effective, and flexible delivery of the Australian Government’s humanitarian assistance and emergency relief program around the world.
Through the HLC program, Palladium delivers six domains of capability:
Procurement of humanitarian and emergency relief supplies and equipment Storage and handling of pre-positioned supplies and equipment Specialised logistics personnel and expertise Specialised logistics and transport capabilities with a global reach Offshore deployment support services Consular crisis management capabilities.The Position
Join our dynamic team at the HLC Warehouse in Pinkenba, Brisbane, as an Inventory Controller. In this pivotal role, you will support the Warehouse Manager and the broader warehouse team by managing, receiving, and dispatching stock from our Brisbane-based storage facility. Your contributions will be essential to our humanitarian efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning: Plan, manage, and report on warehouse space and inventory to maintain optimal stock levels and monitor expiry dates, ensuring seamless warehouse operations and informed procurement decisions. Data Management: Update and maintain WMS databases, files, reports, and records with precision, ensuring all information related to inbound and outbound stores is accurate and up-to-date. Quality Assurance: Ensure warehousing documentation and management systems are complete, accurate, current, and of the highest quality. Inventory Optimization: Plan stock locations and consolidations based on incoming stores, collaborating closely with Procurement and Partners. Problem Solving: Report and resolve inventory discrepancies, addressing issues with warehouse storage locations efficiently. Stock Control: In consultation with the Warehouse Manager, plan and execute blind stocktakes, cycle counts, and ad-hoc stock checks to maintain inventory accuracy. Hands-On Support: Provide physical stores support during periods of high workload or response periods, ensuring smooth operations.This role will also be required to undertake some physical stores support during periods of high workload/response periods. Please note this is a 6-month fixed-term contract role, working Monday to Friday.
What we are looking for
We are seeking a dedicated professional with excellent communication and organizational skills to ensure our warehouse is always ready to support the timely delivery of supplies for global emergency humanitarian responses. The ideal candidate will possess:
Experience: Demonstrated experience in warehouse and inventory control positions. Licensing: A relevant High Risk Works licence for operating mechanical handling equipment (forklift and high reach truck). Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and proficiency with WHS systems; knowledge of Cargowise is advantageous. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Specialized Knowledge: Knowledge of Dangerous Goods is highly advantageous. Adaptability: A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt to rapidly changing situations.Why Join Us?
