Purpose of Role: This role is crucial for maintaining optimal stock levels, preventing both overstocking and stockouts, and ensuring the smooth operation of the supply chain. By leveraging data analysis and inventory management software, the Inventory Controller helps in reducing costs, improving supplier relationships, and enhancing overall operational efficiency. This position is vital for supporting business objectives through effective inventory control, timely stock replenishment, and continuous process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Auditing: Performing regular audits to match physical stock with recorded inventory.Determining Safety Stock Levels: Calculating the appropriate safety stock levels to buffer against demand variability and supply chain disruptions.Data Collection and Analysis: Gathering historical data on demand, lead times, and supply chain performance to inform safety stock calculations.Forecasting Demand: Using statistical methods and forecasting tools to predict future demand and adjust safety stock levels accordingly.Monitoring Inventory Levels: Continuously tracking inventory levels to ensure that safety stock is maintained without leading to overstocking.Adjusting Safety Stock: Regularly reviewing and adjusting safety stock levels based on changes in demand patterns, lead times, and supply chain reliability.Collaboration with Other Departments: Working closely with procurement, sales, and production teams to align safety stock levels with overall business needs and objectives.Reporting and Documentation: Preparing reports on safety stock levels, inventory turnover, and stockouts to provide insights for decision-making.Implementing Inventory Management Systems: Utilizing advanced inventory management software to automate safety stock calculations and monitoringProcess Optimization: Contributing to process improvements and ensuring efficiency in warehouse operations.Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.


Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.Previous experience in supply chain management, procurement, or logistics is often required.Minimum 5 years working experience in similar rolesStrong organizational and time management skills.Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.Proficiency in using supply chain management software and tools.Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
