The Inventory Coordinator performs clerical and logistical duties for supply and inventory control required to support hospital operations. Facilitates the flow of supplies and equipment required for each surgical procedure in support of delivery of patient care. Coordinates, purchases, stores, maintains inventory of sterile supplies and instruments. Assists in suite preparation through inventory, stocking, ordering and gathering of necessary supplies and equipment.
Your every day
Maintains inventory in storerooms and PAR locations:
Monitors, stocks, transports supplies and/or equipment consistent with prescribed policies and procedures.Uses electronic handheld device to maintain accurate inventory counts and drive replenishment.Ensures timely delivery of stock/inventory as needed.Ensures stock expiration is minimized with adherence to stock rotation guidelines and best practices.Manages inventory which may include min/max review, daily monitoring of item changes, new product implementation, managing item location changes, coordinating item conversions, planning and managing inventory burn-down.Engages customers on a regular basis to ensure good service.Maintains the necessary professional presence to effectively interact with clinicians, administrators, colleagues and vendors.Manages inventory data to ensure accurate accounting of supply expenses:
Maintains item attributes in ERP and ensures data is correct.Knows inventory locations sufficiently to put away stock accurately without guidance.Work with appropriate parties to ensure optimum inventory levels, consistent with department financial goals and to minimize manual requisition entry.Ensures supply locations and PARs are maintained according to standards:
Updates and maintains item labeling to maintain accuracy and meet specifications.Investigates, troubleshoots and resolves inventory issues/problems.Identifies process improvements and drives implementation through supervisor.Assists with Vendor Management functions:
Manages vendor adherence to established practices like regularly scheduled inventory review, payment practices or contract adherence.Maintains contract addendums and ensures compliance from all parties.Ensures alignment with Supply Chain initiatives:
Participates in system-wide Product Utilization/Value Analysis Teams in order to better manage product changes and promote standardization.Provides cross-functional support for other clinical areas as necessary.This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this department. Required: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent OR 2 years of previous experience working with shipping, receiving, picking, logistics, distribution, purchasing, warehousing or inventory management.WORK SHIFT:
