**Summary**
The Inventory Count Specialist primary role is to reconcile the ingredient and packaging inventories. This position will maintain the accuracy of the inventory in the kitchens, warehouse and in 3rd party locations so that inventory issues do not slow down or stop the manufacturing process. The Inventory Count Specialist will be responsible for managing the inventory count schedule and adherence, maintaining inventory records by keying/recording count results and working closely with production analysts and supervisors to resolve variances. They will have a key role in ensuring FIFO (first in first out) is followed throughout the manufacturing facility reducing expiry issues and increasing regrind usage.
This position is also responsible for updating KPI’s and keeping the Kitchen Controller apprised of any inventory issues that require management attention. This position will work closely with Supervisors to troubleshoot inventory counts.
**Job Duties**
+ Maintain cycle count schedule
+ Perform daily cycle count per the cycle count schedule
+ Reconcile inventory per the cycle count and make necessary adjustments in ERP system
+ Troubleshoot quantity discrepancies with manufacturing and inspection personnel.
+ Collaborate with team leaders and production personnel to improve inventory accuracy minimizing discrepancies
+ Cycle count and pick-lists count for monthly highlights.
+ Prepare and participate in yearly physical inventory.
+ Other duties as required for stable inventory and accounting needs.
+ Daily Consumption report for each Manufacturing Order
+ Floor count for totes
+ Aid in the recording of production
+ Assist in the recording of kibble manufacturing, ensure completeness and accuracy
+ Record and monitor all items with shelf-life daily and notify appropriate personnel when material has expired.
+ Participate in yearly physical inventory count and reconciliation.
+ Ability to reconcile consumption on manufacturing orders
+ Complete and communicate inventory accurate report to the facility on a weekly basis
+ Other duties as required for stable inventory and account needs
**Requirements**
+ Related post secondary or equivalent work experience. Two to four years’ related work experience in a warehouse or production facility environment.
+ Prior work experience in an inventory control, preferred
+ Demonstrated ability to safely operate material handling equipment, including a forklift truck.
+ Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
+ Good basic mathematical skills with ability to weigh and measure items.
+ Good organizational abilities, including planning, prioritizing and execution skills, with a high degree of accuracy in all areas of work.
+ Good interpersonal skills and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
+ Self-directed, with ability to work successfully both independently and within a team environment.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and computer based applications
+ Knowledge of or experience in WMS (Warehouse Management System) or ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system.
**Working Conditions**
+ Working conditions are in a pet food production facility and warehouse environment, with exposure to dust, noise, odours, and/or fluctuating temperatures.
+ Valid Driver’s License is required for regular travel between warehousing facilities
+ Physical ability to lift 25 lbs.
+ Overtime as required.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between the range listed above, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, if eligible, including variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Eligibility for these additional elements depend on the position offered and the employee’s work schedule (i.e., part-time schedule, store associate).
