Inventory Counter Leader
Description: Job purpose The inventory crew supervisor oversees the inventory audit process and the inventory crew members. Responsibilities include making sure all items in the store are properly counted and uploaded during the inventory audit and all invoices, credits, transfers, and adjustments have been recorded properly. The will also ensure that pictures of the store’s condition have been taken and sent to corporate leadership. Duties and responsibilities • PDI Handheld – Make sure all PDI handheld scanning devices are properly maintained. Handheld devices must upload the store’s price book before the audit. After auditing handheld counts are uploaded into the PDI system. • Inventory Process – Reviewing and verifying that each crew member is scanning correctly via spot checking their areas of count, verifying the fast-food count sheets/tablets for accuracy, count safe, lottery machine and count sections with their inventory employees. Make sure all sections have been tagged. Upload and review counts. Calculate preliminary over/short. • Fast Food – Fast Food departments (deli, chicken, beverage) totals are accurately put into the PDI system. Maintains fast food sheet file to make sure proper cost amounts are used. • Tag Review – Pull tags with store leadership to make sure all sections in the store were counted. • Electronic report – Submit Inventory Crew Audit, check list and fast-food counts via electronic reporting system. • Research Variance – If variance is large the inventory crew supervisor must double check their counts and numbers to make sure there are no issues with the count vs the office figure for that day. • Closing Conference – Conduct a closing conference with the store leader to go over all the counts and findings from the store. • Pictures – Make pictures of the store and the condition of the store. Also take pictures of PDI screens to make sure counts can be verified. • Schedule – Provide a schedule of stores being audited to Loss Prevention monthly. • Transportation – Maintain the company car and drive employees safely from one location to another. • Payroll – Make sure the employee’s hours and payroll are submitted weekly. • Team/Performance management – Responsible for hiring and developing inventory crew members, managing day-to-day team performance, conducting coaching and feedback conversations, and completing annual performance reviews. Oversees team scheduling and fosters a high-performing and accountable culture that ensures all crew members meet expectations for accuracy, speed, and professionalism. Requirements Qualifications • At least 1 year of inventory crew member experience is preferred. • Experience in the convenience store or retail environment. • Knowledge of inventory process • Data Entry • Leadership experience • Accurate counting process • Multi-tasking • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. • Time Management Skills • Comfortable with Microsoft systems (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc…) • Customer service skills • High School Diploma Working conditions Work hours are normally Monday through Thursday (Four 10-hour days). Other days may be required for meetings and inventories. Early morning start time. Some days require long drive times. Some conditions include counting cold temperatures in the cooler and freezer. Counting in warm temperatures in the deli and frying areas. Slippery conditions are possible on the sales floor, in the cooler/freezer, deli, deli prep, stockroom, and outside areas. Physical requirements Job can be very physical. There is a lot of moving around to include bending, kneeling, lifting squatting, constantly going up and down while counting, constant data handheld entries. Standing for long periods of time and sitting for long periods of time. Additional Information Direct reports 3 to 4 Inventory Crew Associates Wage $52000
