How Will You Contribute?
The Inventory Control Manager will lead the strategy, implementation, and optimization of inventory control processes across five distribution centers. Responsible for managing a substantial inventory portfolio exceeding $100 million, this role will ensure inventory accuracy, drive breakage/shrinkage reduction, and minimize product loss.
The successful candidate will lead a dynamic team of 8 direct reports, fostering a culture of high performance and operational efficiency. The position requires regular auditing, problem-solving, and reporting to senior leadership, along with the creation and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to implement best practices.
The Inventory Control Manager will work closely with warehouse, operations, and sales teams to ensure seamless, accurate inventory operations that align with company objectives, directly contributing to long-term business success. As the key leader in inventory management, you will oversee inventory processes, improve loss prevention strategies, and ensure compliance with industry best practices to optimize inventory efficiency and reduce waste.
Position Responsibilities:
+ Inventory Management & Oversight: Lead daily inventory, empty kegs and pallet count processes in all distribution centers, ensuring accuracy and minimal discrepancies. Track and report findings on daily transfers between warehouses.
+ Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify areas for improvement and champion changes that enhance process efficiency, reduce waste, and elevate the accuracy of inventory management.
+ Break/Shrink Reduction & Loss Prevention: Identify and address root causes of breakage and shrinkage. Collaborate with Corporate Controller and Operations leadership to implement corrective actions that directly reduce product loss and improve overall shrink control and drive continuous improvement.
+ Audit & Compliance: Conduct audits to ensure adherence to SOPs. Track and reduce dunnage losses, ensuring all inventory is managed with the highest level of integrity.
+ Collaborative Leadership: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, HR, IT, Operations, Sales, Warehouse) to minimize spoilage, theft, and inaccuracies, while leading the team to meet inventory goals.
+ Review Driver Shortages: Review driver shortages to identify trends and potential theft, ensuring proactive measures are taken to address any issues.
+ Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 7 direct reports. Responsibilities include hiring, training, and conducting performance evaluations to ensure team members are meeting company standards and goals. Foster a positive and high-performance environment while guiding the development of leadership skills within the team.
+ Training & Development: Train Warehouse Managers to reduce overall product loss and ensure adherence to best practices and systems (e.g., WMS, Eostar).
+ Inventory Adjustments & Authorization: Approve inventory adjustments affecting accounts receivable (AR) adjustments and authorize the destruction of damaged or expired products.
+ SOP Creation & Revision: Develop, implement, and revise inventory management SOPs to optimize workflows and reduce operational inefficiencies.
+ Strategic Reporting: Monitor and report on KPIs related to inventory accuracy, breakage/shrinkage reduction, and operational efficiency. Review these metrics with senior leadership.
+ Liaison Role: Act as the main liaison between Inventory Control and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements:
+ Education: Bachelorâs degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
+ Minimum of 5 years in a management role in distribution, warehousing, or supply chain, with strong inventory control experience.
+ Knowledge of inventory control best practices, including FIFO, LIFO, and JIT.
+ Ability to work in a warehouse environment, including occasional lifting (typically up to 50 lbs) and standing for extended periods.
+ Expertise in inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, WMS).
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power Point and inventory management software.
+ Strong analytical skills, inventory management principles and high attention to detail.
+ Ability to think strategically and balance short-term operational goals with long-term inventory strategies.
+ Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Salary: $100,000.00-$110,000.00
It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
