We are seeking an experienced Inventory Materials Specialist to join our team at a leading industrial company in El Dorado, Kansas. This is a full-time, 1-year contract position with the potential for extension or permanent placement.
Role Overview
Perform warehouse and inventory management activities, including material management, master data management, cycle counting, scrapping and surplus management. Ensure efficient and compliant inventory management according to company policies and procedures. Coordinate and oversee inventory of materials and parts to maintain required supply levels. Facilitate workflow for inventory set up, including creating new parts numbers, stock records, bin locations, and order quantities. Expedite materials for upcoming and overdue warehouse material purchases. Procure warehouse inventory and low value expensed parts as assigned. Take precautions to protect warehouse contents, equipment, building, and tools against loss. Create, retain, and review warehouse documents and reports. Oversee plant inventory VMI, vending machine, or other supplier programs. Manage surplus and scrap material processes according to policies and procedures. Perform inventory cycle counts according to policies and procedures. Manage tool rooms, repairable material, storage locations, or other process tracking/monitoring as assigned. Coordinate storage or lay down yards for engineering, maintenance, turnaround, and capital materials. Review receipt and purchase order documents to facilitate invoice payment. Support system enhancements or changes and ensure proper utilization of warehousing information systems and hardware. Assist with internal audit activity, including yearly material and supply count verifications. Serve on the plant Emergency Operations Command team. Arrange and track freight transportation for various LTL or dedicated load shipments.Skills & Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar environment. Previous experience or knowledge of material management. Transportation management, computerized inventory control (preferably SAP), and distribution/warehouse operations experience. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with others. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills.Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.Pay & Benefits
