Managing inventory operations in stores ensures accurate counts which leads to increased replenishment resulting in a great guest experience and a direct impact on store sales revenue. As a leader who will manage Stores Inventory and Operations, you will help build efficiencies and drive execution of the annual inventory process to help lead Target Stores Annual Inventory Teams (T-SAT) and Store Operations.

You will focus on improving operations to ensure stores are in stock by developing and leveraging best practices and routines for T-SAT teams – providing both inventory accuracy and availability. You lead teams to deliver a seamless and convenient experience for our guests no matter how they choose to shop.

Knowledge of the physical inventory process and the impact it has on store operations and sales revenue.Knowledge of guest service fundamentals and experience supporting a guest-centric culture across a multi-unit market of stores supporting both in-store business operations and digital fulfillmentSkills in creating business & market specific strategies by leveraging data and metrics and partnering with store and group business leaders to deliver results through their teams.Knowledge of retail business fundamentals including department sales trends, inventory management and guest shopping patterns.Skills in managing process improvement and workload efficiency.Experience managing a team of hourly team members and leaders.

As an Inventory Operations Leader, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:

Own the physical self-inventory process for numerous store locations and manage day-of execution and problem solving to ensure accurate inventory and drive sales.Set market strategy to ensure operational tasks and execution of the inventory processes are communicated, consistent, and complete.Influence and lead Store and Field Leaders on all aspects of the physical inventory process including store prep, staffing, scheduling, supplemental support and communication.Improve key operational processes that support inventory availability for our guest such as backroom operations associated with inventory controls, accuracy and organization.Manage multiple market-specific inventory teams.Monitor and evaluate team performance to increase productivity and accuracy of the inventory count.Analyze data to identify trends and drive productivity and accuracy for each Market.Partner with the Audit Leader to ensure all reports are worked and audit tasks are completed prior to inventory close.Own the TSAT schedule and communicate staffing needs for individual stores within the inventory market.Partner with HR Leadership to ensure all Team Members and leaders who support TSAT are trained leveraging available resources in Workday and on Workbench.Maintain, register, and coordinate the transport of equipment needed to execute the process between stores.  Walk with DSD to evaluate store readiness and determine support strategy prior to inventory.Lead with autonomy and make critical decisions.Lead and create a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience. Model, train and coach expectations to deliver the service standard.Partner with store Leaders to provide feedback around Team Lead performance to elevate their skills and expertise.Drive improvement in fulfillment operations and other enterprise objectives provided by the Operations Director during seasonal periods when TSAT is unavailableDemonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing biasAlways demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance; lead team to work in the same way and hold others accountable to this commitment.Address store needs (emergency, regulatory visits, etc.)All other duties based on business needs.
