As the Inventory Specialist at one of our Alaskan facilities, you are responsible for maintaining records of all plants’ inventory. You will be required to produce inventory reports for the plant manager on a regular basis and ensure that supplies and products records and actual storage inventory match up. The Inventory Specialist will oversee the plants inventory control by keeping track of all products and supplies as well as comparing actual inventory to products’ sales records. This position requires a proficiency in the use of inventory software, detailed knowledge of the range of a company’s products, and a strong attention to detail. All stock organized and replenished as necessary. Fantastic communication skills, a great attitude, and a team-focused mentality are critical attributes for success in this role.
Essential Functions/Qualifications
The responsibilities of the position include the following:
Conduct cycle count inventory processes to ensure accuracy and timely execution Schedule categories for cycle count inventory and maintain strict records Oversee and evaluate stock rotation procedures Maintain adequate storage for warehouse and on-site inventory Maintain and evaluate inventory records on a quarterly basis Train department staff in product dating and create procedures to eliminate loss Create an efficient space utilization plan in the facility Notify other departments heads of shortages or other problems that could impact product availability Instruct other departments staff on proper procedures for locating and utilizing product inventory Check bulk orders for accuracy and quality prior to shipment Shipping – will supervise the loading crew, track finished products, prepare and print bills of lading. Prepare van tallies, coordinate pick-up and containers drop off. Affix van seals and log, enter shipping log into the system. Receiving – ensures proper storage and disbursement, responsible for security, organization and housekeeping of all controlled stock areas. Notify any discrepancies. Other duties as assigned to ensure the facility and organization is fully supported and successful.Competencies

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Position requires onsite presence at our Alaska Processing Facility, and the ability to travel, spending a significant amount of time during the season at our various locations and processing facilities in Alaska.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Ability to tolerate short periods of exposure to freezer temperatures. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision and depth perception.
Mental Activities
The employee needs the ability to multitask in a high demand environment. Focus and concentration on numbers, reports and associated details are critical. Great communication skills, reliability and punctuality. The employee needs to be able to discern details on projects, spreadsheets, etc. The employee needs to regularly demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to demonstrate understanding of reports as well as the ability to draw appropriate conclusions from the data. The employee is required to use creativity, problem solving, independent judgment and discretion.
