Overview of Position

The mission of the Inventory Specialist Level I is to maintain accurate inventory counts within the warehouse and WMS, properly manage inventory statuses, manage expiring reporting and to communicate critical inventory levels via daily and weekly reports. This position requires the ability to operate a forklift (all types – sit down, reach truck, etc.) when needed as well as to perform responsibilities as a warehouse associate as needed.

 II. Job Responsibilities

Perform daily/weekly/monthly cycle counts of inventory Participation in all Physical Inventories to include preparation, counting and performing counts, recording data, and assisting auditors with a goal of 98.0% success rate Monitor, identify, and correct inventory related to production shorts and system discrepancies for RFD and PTL Work with the production team to help resolve any issues causing customer orders to not ship Assist with Monitoring weight issues between actual and WMS Manage expired goods Operate several types of forklifts as needed to perform job responsibilities, including Reach, Order Picker, Counterbalance Utilize Excel for reporting and tracking Utilize Outlook/email to communicate inventory data both internally and externally with proper business etiquette Cross trained to understand Receiving, Putaway, Picking, and shipping functions both RAW and FG Accurately move palletized materials for safe storage until needed by production and/or warehouse Assist with Disposal of discontinued and scrap product Use WMS, ERP, RF and other systems to maintain and report inventory levels Processing and clearing damages on the RFD and PTL lines Receive in Corrugated shipments into WMS Perform Quality auditing for all departments (Receiving, Shipping, PTL, RFD, and Replenishment functions) Cross Trained back up for Wave Planner, Receiving Associates, Loader/Shipping, and Production Lead Support Other duties as required Position requires overtime as needed

III. Scope

To ensure inventory accuracy by performing daily/weekly/quarterly inventory counts. To ensure 98.0% inventory accuracy at Year End Audit. To communicate major discrepancies in inventory that would directly affect customer demand and company investment. Work together as a team with other departments.

All drivers must be able to pass inter-company forklift certification in order to drive company equipment. The driver must be able to always follow all Safety guidelines. The driver must be able to follow both verbal and written instructions. Drivers must be able to move at a steady pace for long periods of time to maintain the high level of pallet intake and movements needed on a daily basis.  

IV. Knowledge, Education, Skills & Abilities

High school diploma or GED is required.  Six – Twelve (6-12) months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of Education and Experience.  Must be able to read and write English and be able to follow written and verbal directions.  Must be able to perform Physical requirements of position.  Forklift experience is required.
