Inventory Specialist - Sterile Processing Department (Full-Time 40, Varied shifts)

RESPONSIBILITIES
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintains accurate and appropriate levels of inventory in clinical and other assigned areas.
• Responsible for tracking supplies, processing and maintaining accurate records through the Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) system, and other hospital information systems as appropriate.
• Keeps current on specialty items for department/service.
• Performs duties in accordance with department and medical center policies and procedures.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Essential: standing, walking, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking; lifting, pushing/pulling usual weight of 5 pounds up to 20 pounds of force, reaching above, at and below shoulder level; static gripping of an object for prolonged periods.
• Frequent: sitting, repetitive arm/hand motions.
• Occasional: stooping/bending, squatting, twisting body, frequent gripping of an object.
• Operates computer, print, copier, facsimile, and calculator.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) by the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) preferred.
B. EXPERIENCE:
• Two (2) years experience in product distribution and inventory management, preferably in a comparable organization.
• Experience to demonstrate ability to operate automated inventory systems.
• Knowledge of medical supplies preferred.
