The Inventory Supervisor will support our onsite vendor managed inventory program in Northern Illinois. This role oversees the onsite inventory replenishment and stocking models based on approved schedule and targets set within our customer agreements by managing and leading our team of Inventory Control Associates. This role also validates the accuracy of product transferred between facilities, researches and resolves discrepancies, monitors adjustments in the warehouse management system, and conducts analysis to forecast potential inventory issues.

Responsibilities

You will

Lead a team of 4 to 5 Inventory Control AssociatesInitiate customer invoicing and facilitate billingMaintain positive customer relationship in partnership with sales teamSet cycle counts of inventory, researches and clears any discrepanciesPlan layout of storerooms, customer closets, and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items storedTrace history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepanciesSupervise employees through staff development, assigning duties and examining work to ensure compliance of the organization’s policies, procedures and applicable laws; manage labor hours and payroll in electronic timekeeping systemServe as primary backup to onsite staff to cover time off and short staffingRecommend process improvements within the warehouse or distribution center which will improve accuracy of inventory and/or productivityWork well cross-functionally with all departments Qualifications

You have:

3+ years of direct inventory control experience, ideally in distribution operationsMinimum 1 year of supervisory experience preferredExperience with warehouse management systemsProficiency in Microsoft OfficeHigh school diploma or GED (general education diploma) Position requires the ability to lift 40lbs and requires frequent bending, reaching, and stretching.
