Inventory Technician – Elmhurst Hospital – Days
Position Highlights:
Position: Inventory TechnicianLocation: Elmhurst, ILFull Time (40 hours per week)Hours: Monday – Friday 6:00am-2:30pm, Rotating Weekends and HolidaysRequired Travel: May need to cover some of the offsite locations we stock and serviceJob Summary:
Under general supervision and according to established procedures, responsible for maintaining established stock levels in supply areas for assigned Hospital units. In doing so, counts current stock levels, input results into computer, picks some items from stores, organizes and distributes JIT deliveries and delivers stock to assigned units. Performs related duties such as putting away stock in appropriate locations, periodically counting available stock, filling and delivering stat requisitions and so forth.
What you will do:
Counts and records stock levels on par sheets and/or handheld device for assigned Hospital department. Reports significant and/or unexpected changes in supply levels to supervisor for investigation.Enters stock level counts into computers system and generates a purchase order to our JIT distributor and picks lists for each assigned Hospital department.Using pick list, pulls stock items from stores, organize department JIT totes and loads supply carts for each assigned department.Delivers supplies to specific areas and re-stocks supply areas. Ensures appropriate levels of supplies and reorganizes shelves and drawers as necessary.Checks in shipping deliveries and delivers material to appropriate department.Counts and records equipment charges on census sheets for assigned Hospital departments. Enters counts into computer system. Delivers equipment to assigned Hospital department.Communicates with department personnel and Hospital personnel from assigned departments in order to inform others of new supplies and/or supply shortages. Works with receiving area in response to temporary stock outage situations.Responds to requests for immediate delivery of supplies to Hospital departments, picks and delivers requested items and completes necessary requisition forms.Performs related duties including answering telephone calls, researching basic supply problems, informing supervisor of supply problems, and so forth.Assists in placing new stock in appropriate location following established rotation procedures and participates in annual and periodic inventory counts as directed.Assists Receiving Dock during stressed time as needed.What you will need:
Education: High School Diploma or GEDExperience: Minimum three months of previous experience in warehousing or in central distribution in a healthcare environmentCertification: A valid driver’s license is required if the incumbent is selected to perform related duties at an offsite location. If the incumbent uses their personal vehicle, the incumbent must maintain automobile liability coverage as required by law and evidence of such coverage may be requested.Benefits (For full time or part time positions):
