Responsibilities You will utilize organization skills to administer, coordinate, lead, or perform inspections, investigations, analytical, and/or advisory work to assure understanding of and compliance with Federal laws, regulations or other mandatory guidelines. You will assist the Deputy and Command Inspector General ensuring adequacy and clarity of all formal reports and findings. You will conduct preliminary analysis to recommend possible courses of action to resolve requests or information received by external parties. You will confidentiality process and analyze information including requests for assistance, allegations of potential wrongdoing, complaints regarding administrative processes, fraud, waste, abuse of authority, and mismanagement. You will support command inspection teams or lead an inspection team with duties including developing an inspection plan and timeline, advertising and coordinating inspection scope, objectives, guidelines, and dates. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Provide technical expertise in analyzing requests for assistance, allegations of wrongdoing, and complaints; develop investigative work plans, investigate complaints or action requests, lead inspection teams, and prepare correspondence associated with allegations supported by fact. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Additional Information Several vacancies may be filled. Must be willing and able to perform TDY assignments as required, 10 to 15 % of work may involve travel. Required to complete and pass the mandatory 3-week Inspector General Course after hire. This position is not telework eligible as physical presence is required. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.
