Job Description:

We’re looking for an Investigator to join our team at MBPS. In this role, you are responsible for conducting comprehensive investigations pertinent to known or suspected frauds, violations of company policy, misconduct, and acts of unethical and/or criminal behavior.

Key Accountabilities:

Conduct internal investigations of various complexities (e.g., fraud, misconducts, sales/market misconduct, AML/AFT related due diligence, etc.) involving employees, agents/distributors and others impacting the Company’s brand and reputation.

Collaborate with relevant stakeholders on specific policy violation matters.

Conduct interviews of employees, agents, and others.

Maintain knowledge of current, advanced investigative techniques, technology, software, database resources, industry developments, compliance issues, AML/ATF, Privacy laws and other relevant legislations.

Play a role in the Company’s fraud awareness training program, help develop and deliver training material and awareness communications

Collaborate and support Manulife Corporate Security as required

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree, preferably in finance or legal discipline

At least four (4) years of relevant experience, in fraud and/or financial crime investigations

Strong stakeholder management skills - able to communicate well with all employee levels

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills for effective communication

Excellent analytical skills, lateral thinking, and problem-solving ability with high attention to detail

Nice to Haves:

Experience in law enforcement investigations is a plus

Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and related designations are preferred

Interviewing certifications are a plus
