ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assists law enforcement agencies with investigations into criminal matters occurring within the casino where appropriate. Assists Virginia Lottery representatives with regulatory investigations as needed. Works in conjunction with Risk and Safety Manager to investigate and resolve issues that may pose legal or civil liability to Caesars Virginia. Interviews and takes statements from individuals involved in security/surveillance related activities and prepares reports detailing facts. Appears in court to give testimony on subpoenaed and/or documented facts contained in complaints or warrant files and represent the company in unemployment hearings. Must be willing to comply with long flexible hours during an investigation, be “on call” 24 hours, 7 days a week, and as such, will respond to the property at the request of the Security Manager with investigative oversight, Director of Security, or higher up. Communicate with other departments and investigators from other properties as necessary. Prepares specified reports; assists in preparation of reports. May perform undercover assignments, conducting surveillance as necessary. Makes recommendations for proactive measures to resolve recurring issues. Coordinates with guests to make restitution and maintain records concerning restitution made to the casino. Will act as a shift supervisor to cover shifts when necessary, leading by example. Completes special assignments as required. Will review reports that require follow-up; contact guests to resolve communication breakdowns. Provide guidance and continuous training to security personnel in report writing, preliminary investigations, internal controls, Standard Operating Procedures, CPR, AED, and First Aid. Notifies management of any relevant situation or information. Maintain a high level of confidentiality.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
The following qualifications will be required for the Investigator.
High school graduate or equivalent is required. Prior experience in a position with direct guest contact is preferred. Minimum of two years’ experience in the field of Security or Surveillance Supervisor or similar capacity in the public sector. Ability to manage several tasks at once. A thorough knowledge of accepted Virginia Gaming and Security/Surveillance procedures Must possess good oral and written communication skills along with a good working knowledge of basic computer programs. Must be able to obtain and possess a Virginia Gaming License from the VA Lottery. Must possess a valid Virginia driving license and pass MVR check. Must possess investigative and analytical skills. Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision.PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to work in a high stress environment for long periods of time when necessary. Must be able to work and stand inside and outside, sometimes in extreme heat or cold conditions. Must be able to physically restrain individuals when conditions of arrest exist. Must be able to respond calmly in crisis and stressful situations and be able to make rational decisions when handling guest and employee issues. Must be able to work independently. Must be able to maintain confidentiality. Must be able to stoop, bend, jump, twist, crouch, grip, carry heavy loads and maneuver quickly on level surfaces, as well as up and down stairs. Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds. Must be able to push or pull up to 150 pounds. Must be able to see and, also, remember the specific details of incidents and persons. Must be able to give court testimony when necessary and write detailed reports. The Investigator responds to visual and aural cues, and must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust. Perform all tasks required by the position
