Investment Accounting Consultant

The Investment Accounting Consultant is responsible for the accounting, reporting, and analysis of the company’s investment portfolio. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, maintains accurate investment records, and provides financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
+ Perform daily and monthly investment accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
+ Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and statutory accounting principles (SAP) as applicable.
+ Record and analyze investment transactions, including fixed income, equities, derivatives, and alternative investments.
+ Prepare and review investment schedules for financial statements and regulatory reporting (e. . , SEC, and statutory filings).
+ Conduct investment performance analysis and variance analysis.
+ Work closely with asset managers, custodians, and auditors to ensure accurate reporting.
+ Assist in the implementation and enhancement of investment accounting systems and controls.
+ Stay updated on industry regulations and standards affecting investment
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CFA, or other relevant certification preferred.
+ Strong knowledge of investment products, including bonds, equities, derivatives, and alternative assets.
+ Familiarity with SAP, and IFRS/GAAP investment accounting standards.
+ Proficiency in investment accounting systems and ERP platforms (e. . , Clearwater, PAM, SAP, Oracle).
+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
+ Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred:
+ Experience in statutory reporting and regulatory compliance.
+ Knowledge of risk management and investment portfolio strategies.
+ Prior experience working with investment custodians and asset managers.
+ Variety of workplace arrangements including hybrid, remote, onsite.
