Investment Advisor

Join us as an Investment Advisor at Barclays, where you'll partner with private bankers, as an investment specialist with deep understanding of our investment proposition, focusing on direct interactions with HNW, UHNW and Family Office clients. The IA will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the Barclays Private Bank product platforms and services, and use that understanding to design the right solution for the client situation including pitches, proposals, existing portfolio analysis, implementation and on-going investment reviews, management and client updates. 

To be successful as an Investment Advisor you will need to have the following essential skills/basic qualifications:

Industry qualifications to FCA Level 4 and/or CFADesign well diversified and optimised portfolios reflecting Barclays Wealth strategic viewsWill have been responsible for managing and communicating directly with clients on their Investment assets across all services, increasing share of wallet and growing investment assets and revenues in line with commercial targets, and pitching prospects for new business to the Private Bank.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

Industry qualifications to FCA Level 6 and/or CFA.Have extensive market and investment knowledge in order to direct all investment assets under their covered relationships (including discretionary / advisory and Exo service assets).Ability to understand the most complex of investment concepts, often developing innovative investment strategies and analysis to deliver on intricate client needs.

You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills. This role can be based out of London.

This role is regulated by FCA.

This role is deemed as a Certified role under the PRA & UK Financial Conduct Authority - Individual Accountabilities Regulations and will require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.

Purpose of the role

To establish and nurture profitable partnerships with both corporate and individual clients. It's the bridge between the bank's offerings and clients' needs, ensuring mutual benefit and long-term success. 

Accountabilities

Management of client relationships to identify the clients financial goals, challenges, and risk tolerance to support the analysis of data obtained from various sources, including the investment portfolio and cash flow, to identify trends, insights, areas for improvement and additional services to support client needs.Research and understanding of the client's industry trends, regulatory landscape, and competitive environment to inform strategic recommendations.Design of customised solutions that address the client's specific needs and objectives, incorporating a range of products and services from the bank's portfolio.Communication of the value proposition of proposed solutions, justification of recommendations, and negotiation of terms that are beneficial for both the client and the bank.Provision of guidance to clients to support their financial decisions, offering expert investment advice, risk management and wealth management strategies support, and updates on market trends to ensure a positive and continuous relationship.Assessment of financial, legal, and operational risks associated with client relationships, and implementation of measures to minimise potential losses.Documentation of all client interactions, transactions, and agreements to ensure transparency and auditability, and communicate findings effectively to support product development, service offerings, and the overall bank strategy.Monitoring of client satisfaction, revenue generated, and other relevant metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of relationship management efforts.
