We are seeking a talented individual to join our Real Estate Alternatives team at Mercer. This role will be based in New York, with flexibility for candidates in DC or Atlanta. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
The new team member will work closely with senior staff and client consultants to complete due diligence on real estate funds and investment opportunities, support portfolio construction and management, and also mentor junior colleagues.
We will count on you to:
Conduct comprehensive due diligence on real estate investment funds and investment opportunities, which includes leading due diligence meetings with asset managers, completing comprehensive research reports and investment committee memos, and presenting findings to investment committees and senior staff.Assist with the formation of the Firm’s views on different regions and sectors of the real estate market.Assist with sourcing new real estate investment opportunities, which includes primary funds, secondaries, and co-investment opportunities, by engaging with and maintaining professional relationships with asset managers and other industry professionals.Assist in ongoing portfolio management of Mercer’s discretionary capital and real estate products, which includes regular performance monitoring, cash flow and pacing plan management, and regular update meetings with asset managers.Present Mercer’s best ideas and views to client consultants, clients, and Mercer Leadership team.Oversee workloads and provide guidance to junior colleagues, fostering their professional development.What you need to have:
3-7 years of relevant institutional real estate experience at a pension fund, endowment, foundation, consulting firm, fund of funds, or investment manager.Bachelor’s degree in finance or equivalent.Project management skills, with a proven ability to work independently.Exceptional quantitative skills to evaluate fund and portfolio performance.Proficiency in financial applications and MS Office applications.What makes you stand out:

Marsh McLennan is committed to hybrid work, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections and professional development benefits of working together in the office. All Marsh McLennan colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.
The applicable base salary range for this role is $115,200 to $230,400.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
