Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Fixed Asset Accountant is to ensure timely and accurate accounting for project costs and fixed assets. The Fixed Asset Accountant is responsible for financial aspects of capital expenditures including equipment, projects, and Assets Under Construction (AUC)

INVESTMENTS AND FIXED ASSETS

-Support on the preparation of electronic Capital Requests (eCR's)

-Track expenses for fixed assets compared to  Capital Requests

-Track compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts

-Calculate depreciation for fixed assets

-Work with project leads to reconcile discrepancies

-Prepare audit schedules for fixed assets

-Prepare Monthly Capital Reports

-Assign tag numbers to fixed assets.

-Conduct periodic impairment reviews for intangible assets.

-Conduct periodic impairment reviews for intangible assets.

-Conduct periodic physical counts of fixed assets.

-Prepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets, and assist the auditors in their inquiries.

-Reconcile the balance in the fixed asset subledger to the summary-level account in the Balance Sheet.

 

CAPITAL BUDGET

-Assists with reviewing and preparation annual capital budgets for accuracy and completeness

-Assists with reviewing and prepartion of monthly capital FC for accuracy and completeness

-Compare actual to budgeted results and report variances with department managers


 

OTHER ACCOUNTING FUNCTIONS

-Assist in month end activities

-Reconcile balance sheet accounts

-Support with other reporting for managers

-Cost center expenses control.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

-Bachelor degree in accounting or related field.

-2+ years of corporate accounting experience

-2+ years of fixed assets experience 

- Some knowledge of a manufacturing work environment. 

-Microsoft office experience required (advance excel).

-Effective problem solving skills in a dynamic environment.

-Strong teamwork and collaboration skills in fast-paced setting.

-Self-motivated and intellectually curious with a commitment to high-quality results.

-Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficient.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

-5+ years of corporate accounting experience

-SAP experience preferred.
