Citi is looking for a senior analyst or junior associate to join the Financial Strategy Group (FSG), a corporate finance advisory team in Citi’s investment banking division. The FSG team, working in close partnership with sector, coverage and product teams, advises clients in M&A and capital markets transactions on the full spectrum of corporate finance issues; focusing on capital structure, credit ratings, funding strategy, valuation, cost of capital, shareholder returns and distributions, capital allocation, and liquidity management, among others.

Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate would work on high-profile client pitches and deals spanning all industry sectors, interact directly with clients and credit rating agencies, and take on an exceptional level of responsibility. Key responsibilities include:

Advise clients on how to achieve their desired credit rating goals in the context of their contemplated transactions, and wider corporate objectivesApply credit rating methodologies of the three major credit rating agencies (S&P, Moody’s, Fitch) to asses a company’s credit ratingUnderstand the implications of various corporate actions (e.g. M&A and capital markets transactions) on a company’s financial profile and reflect the same in a financial modelPresent analysis of expected credit rating impact of a contemplated transaction to Citi’s credit committeesCollect and analyse company financial information, conduct industry research, perform benchmarking with peer groupsPrepare presentation materials for client discussion to support the analysisLiaise with credit rating agencies, as well as with banking teams across industry, coverage and productsAdvise clients on border corporate finance topics such capital structure, funding strategy, cost of capital, shareholder returns and distributions, capital allocation, and liquidity managementHelp train and develop junior members of the team

Person Specification:

Knowledge/Experience

Ideally 3 years of experience in a credit analysis or advisory roleFluent English is a prerequisite (other languages would be an advantage but not essential)
