• Bachelor’s degree (preferably supplemented with a Master’s degree) in finance, business, economics, controlling or similar discipline
• 3-5 years of work experience in transaction services, business controlling, financial planning and analysis (preferably in an investment environment)
• Comprehensive financial modelling skills and knowledge of valuation methodologies
• Persuasive communication skills, both written and verbal; comprehensive report writing skills
• Self-starting, with the capacity to work individually and take responsibility, while simultaneously able to perform as a part of a team.
• Experience working in an international, cross-cultural and cross-functional environment
• Energized by contributing to the overall growth of the team through collaboration and contribution of knowledge and expertise
• Highly motivated and efficient individual with a sense of simplicity, entrepreneurship, and humbleness

• Design and implement portfolio controlling and reporting strategies, ensuring alignment with strategic goals. Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance portfolio performance
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis to evaluate the performance of individual investments and the overall portfolio and prepare regular reporting’s to various stakeholders
• Conduct portfolio valuations ensuring individual investments, and the overall portfolio meet return requirements
• Identify, assess, and report on risks within the portfolio and perform periodical impairment analysis to identify potential losses and inform decision-making
• Stay abreast of industry trends and economic conditions that may impact the portfolio
• Provide transaction (M&A) support for minority investments and business acquisitions
• Provide onboarding and integration support to the finance functions of newly acquired companies
• Build and maintain significant business relationships with a variety of stakeholders across the organization

Investment activities | Portfolio Area Business Development Investments
Our retail business is on a path of transformation to become a unique omnichannel retailer, meeting changing consumer behaviors as well as becoming circular and climate positive. Our Business Acquisitions, Venture and Circular investment activities - combinedly comprising the ‘Portfolio Area Business Development Investments’ - play an important role in accelerating this change through our financial and strategic investments in companies developing new technologies, capabilities and services that meet the challenges of today and tomorrow.
Business Acquisitions & Venture Investments
Our investments should enable us to better meet customers in a more sustainable way and we always look to establish or strengthen business links between our IKEA Retail business and portfolio companies. We focus on innovative companies in logistics and fulfilment, home furnishing services, financial services, sustainable food production, Life at Home services and other retail-related areas. Our mandate allows us to do both venture, minority investments and strategic business acquisitions. As per today, our Business Acquisitions portfolio comprises of 4 companies, and we currently manage over 20 minority stakes in our Venture Investments portfolio.
Circular Investments
As part of IKEA’s “People & Planet Positive strategy”, Ingka aims to transform into a 100% circular business by 2030. To enable this transition, we also invest - as part of our Circular Investment mandate - in companies that are developing technology or growing capacity to prevent waste or supply recycled materials to support IKEA’s circularity strategies. We focus on materials where recycling infrastructure capacity is lacking compared to other materials: mattresses, plastics, textiles, wood, and food. The Circular Investments portfolio consists of 4 minority investments.
Team & Role
The Portfolio Area Business Development Investments team currently comprises of 20 professionals focusing on deal origination, investment and portfolio management, integration and onboarding, business development, and portfolio controlling and reporting.
To further professionalize the portfolio controlling and reporting function, we are looking to recruit an investment controller. You will be part of the portfolio area finance team. The team has multiple matrix connections to both the Ingka Investment central finance function and the local finance functions of our portfolio companies, together covering the full finance scope. You will work closely with the investment teams, central finance team, portfolio company finance teams, the Financial Risk Monitoring and Controlling function and various support functions (Legal, Tax and Treasury).
