What you will do

We are looking for an Investment Operations Analyst to join our Investment Liabilities Accounting team which is a part of the Public Investment Operations group within PGIM Global Services.

PGIM Global Services provides the operations and technology support that contributes to PGIM being a world-class investment manager. We supply transaction-level support, generate and report investment results and ensure that they are accurately reflected on our Financial Statements.

As an Investment Operations Analyst in Investment Liabilities Accounting, you will perform a variety of investment support functions, including accounting, reporting, and analysis.  You will gain experience in liquidity markets working with affiliated debt in both foreign and USD currencies, external debt, and Treasury’s directed investments. You will be provided an opportunity for cultivation of your leadership skills, and you will be able to gain broad business knowledge by way of consistent exposure to a wide network of business partners, including the PGIM business divisions, Treasury, Finance, Systems, Tax, Risk Management and Accounting Policy. Working closely with these teams, you will support the monthly and quarterly close process as well as Enterprise initiatives. In Investment Liabilities Accounting you will receive on-the-job training as well as professional training courses. You will be working in a challenging environment on complex financial transactions that will allow you to continually grow and develop skills.

This position is based in one of our offices in Tampa, FL or Newark, NJ and will follow a hybrid schedule (2 days in office). Our organization follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely and/ from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences. Working from the office is encouraged when working on tasks that require a high degree of collaboration.

What you can expect

Depending on your experience and interest, your role could include responsibilities in the following areas:

Complete monthly reconciliations of balances between the accounting system and Oracle general ledger.

Ensure financial statement balances are in accordance with GAAP & STAT principles.

Assist in determining accounting treatment for investments such as bonds, commercial paper, and money funds.

Provide reporting for use in financial statement disclosures, forecasting, and data analysis.

Participate in internal and external audits of our SOX Key Controls.

Assist with systems initiatives and work through issues with the technology support team.

Collaborate with business partners across various departments within the company.

Additional responsibilities may include:

Supporting and monitoring the investments we support.

ORACLE accounting entries and ledger reconciliations.

Bank reconciliations.

External and Internal audit review and support.

Participate in various analysis and special projects.

What you will bring

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Strong analytical, critical thinking skills and solutions oriented.

Ability to understand and analyze basic accounting principles and financial statements.

Ability to organize and prioritize tasks in a deadline and fast paced environment.

Excellent interpersonal and leadership qualities.

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to summarize and communicate complex issues effectively, both orally and in writing.

Prior background / internship experience in investment management or financial services industry is strongly preferred.

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $60,000 to $70,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
