Investment Operations Analyst (Middle Office) *

The Role

The focus of the role is to perform investment operations functions for predominantly pension fund clients while working closely with operations colleagues, custodians, and investment managers to ensure the investment operation functions are completed accurately and on a timely basis. This role requires a team-player who is numbers and detail oriented with good knowledge of investment management or custodian back-office operations. The Investment Operations world is wide ranging and includes some exciting challenges.

Working knowledge of investment management/custodian back-office operations including:

Cash management Daily update and cash flow forecasting Maintaining appropriate cash levels for payments Dealing with custodians/investment managers/administrators  Reconciling trades and cash settlements Letters of direction to custodian/ investment managers Monthly reconciliation of activity & market values between investment managers/custodians/internal records Data set up requests for SSI updates and new bank accounts.  Monitoring and compliance support Monthly portfolio re-balancing Procedures and controls (risk management) Produce monthly and quarterly performance reports for the investment clients Work as part of dedicated operations team providing a variety of services to designated clients  Collaborate with other analysts and portfolio managers for delivery of data and client communication Liaise with members of the wider investment team and Benefits practice in order to gain the necessary data and understanding of the client’s needs Deliver on projects to meet or exceed client expectations Increase efficiency within client teams by identifying ways to improve processes

The Requirements

Bachelor’s degree is required; with at least two years of relevant work experience, ideally gained in a client-service oriented environment (investment management/custodian back-office operations)Good organisation and time management skills, with a proven ability to handle a variety of assignments and meet tight deadlinesProven effective oral and written communication skills in business EnglishAbility to work on own initiative when required, as well as in a team with enthusiasm to challenge processes and work with the team to effect change.Confidence to communicate and work with people at all levels in a variety of roles, locations and functionsDetail and results orientated, with a logical and analytical method of workingKnowledge of institutional investors is desirable but not essentialProficient in using Microsoft Excel and Power Point to create and produce dynamics reports and spreadsheets with accuracy and clarityEnjoy working with numbers and compiling data, using mathematical and analytical skills to maximize efforts and thorough work ethicDesire to work in the investment industry and interest in financial investingShould be amenable to EMEA shift
