The FM Investments team (FMIM) manages the general account assets of FM, a leading commercial property insurer. Through the FM Investments internship program, you will gain exposure to multiple asset classes (Equities, Fixed Income, Alternatives). Candidates will work with Investments team members to develop various project deliverables. Internship projects will be allocated among interns appropriately. Interns will work closely with their assigned project mentor.
Schedule & Location
This is a full-time, office-based position working Monday through Friday throughout the summer months within our Waltham, MA location. Occasional travel to meetings and conferences to be expected based on business needs.
ResponsibilitiesInternship projects may include some of the following:
Engage in various investment projects across asset classes and disciplines – Equities, Fixed Income, Alternatives and OperationsPortfolio management investment and risk analytics – total portfolio and by asset classDeveloping investment management reports by asset classWeekly / monthly / quarterly markets and portfolio analytics packet for Equities and Fixed IncomeWorking with Investments team members and Bloomberg subject matter experts to build broad markets and asset class-based screensIndustry research analysisSecurity level analysisOther Investments and Operations related projects Qualifications Progress towards Graduate degree (Master’s or PhD), with a strong academic recordStrong quantitative, analytical, research and critical thinking skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)Experience with Bloomberg and FactSet a plusStrong communication skillsKeen and demonstrated interest in investment management
The hiring range for this position is $33.00 to $38.00 per hour. The final salary offer will vary based on geographic location, individual education, skills, and experience.
