Position Summary:
Reporting to the Associate Director, Student Affairs, the incumbent will be responsible for a variety of tasks during the deferred exam period.
Tasks and Duties:
Prepare the examination room prior to each session to specific requirements as well as ensuring that equipment and facilities are functioning properly.
Assist professors with the distribution of their exams.
Ensure that only students with valid identification enter the examination room.
Monitor student activity to ensure exam integrity is maintained.
Assists professors in obtaining student signatures on sign-in sheets.
Escort students to the lavatory.
Ensure that when the exam has officially ended students stop writing.
Assist professors with the collection of exams.
Ensure the examination room is cleaned and empty after examination.
Photocopying.
Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Previous invigilating experience, an asset.
Must be registered as a Graduate Student at McGill.
Punctuality - work shift starts 30 minutes prior to scheduled start time of exams.
Knowledge of English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level 3 on a scale of 0-4, for both Verbal and written communications.
