IOP Coordinator
Position Summary The Program Coordinator is responsible for the overall administration of Mary Greeley Medical Center’s IOP Program. Included in these responsibilities are: 1) the development and maintenance of a high-quality treatment program; 2) strategic planning, program administration, and development; and 3) provide high-quality therapeutic services including group therapy, individual therapy, family therapy and therapeutic consults. Unit Specific Position Responsibilities + Completes the full inquiry/intake process, including the phone call, follow up consults with MD, and completes any patient referrals before admission, schedules in-person assessments, confirms insurance coverage and follows up with patients’ providers + Assesses information at intake; formulates accurate diagnostic impressions and appropriate treatment goals; identifies factors which may interfere with obtaining maximum benefits from treatment. The assessment must be completed within 24 hours of the intake + Provides screenings to ensure eligibility of all prospective clients + Fulfills patient requests for referrals (ex. New Therapist or medication provider, IHH, domestic violence resources and referral to community resources), collects and researches resources for any and all patients + Provides supplemental direct services as part of the specialized function + Completes the full admission process. This includes reviewing the patient file; demographics, and preparing paperwork (Prepping ROIs All signature pages, safety plans, health assessments, SI screenings, etc.). Ensures all paperwork is ready for the patient to complete during the assessment + Orients the patients to the Unit and confirms the admission with the MD; obtains signed Order and certification of admission. + Completes the clinical report within the psychosocial + Completes follow up assessment therapy summaries and conclusion of data work with the patients and the MD; schedules a start date for the patients; and schedules a psych evaluation with the MD + Prepares initial treatment plans, scheduled follow up plans and/or reassessments + Monitors and transcribes treatment plan notes to reflect patients' progress, reflecting data of development and reassessment of treatment to support patients in ongoing services + Directs the development and implementation of diagnostic procedures; monitors them for consistent application within the program and compliance with state certification and established clinical standards + Coordinates the provision of treatment activities among program units for efficient application and beneficial impact on clients + Responsible for crisis calls and evaluations for IOP clients and family members engaging the service + Coordinates/communicates with other providers to increase the effectiveness of treatment + Prepares for and completes all group therapy sessions in IOP. Completes group therapy notes, mandatory patient clinical documentation, performs therapeutic interventions, approaches, and modalities while engaging patients in treatment development + Creates discharge plans, prepares discharge paperwork, completes referrals (as needed), and updates treatment plans + Coordinates with current providers regarding discharge and discharge plans + Reviews filings to ensures paperwork is complete + Completes discharge summaries within a specified number of days for client termination + Schedules outpatient providers discharge appointments for patients + Maintains all records and documentation according to policies and procedures + Manages insurance and billing procedures for the IOP Program. This includes entering charges, correcting billing errors, obtaining approvals and confirmations, tracking, meeting compliance standards, and maintenance of medical records + Audits IOP files in a timely manner and as needed + Observes safety and security procedures, reports potentially unsafe conditions. + Oversees students as appropriate. + Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications (Including any licensure, certification, education): + Master’s degree in social work + Licensed by the State of Iowa as an LMSW, LCSW, LISW, LMHC or LMFT + Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers training, or within 90 days of hire and must maintain throughout employment + Minimum two years’ experience preferred with appropriate education Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience: + Fosters sense of teamwork and collaboration within the department and Hospital + Ability to manage anger, fear, hostility, and violence of others appropriately + Ability to make decisions under pressure + Ability to manage stress appropriately and channels concerns appropriately + Demonstrates good judgement in handling situations not covered by written or verbal instructions + Demonstrates ability to make productive use of time through careful coordination of daily tasks, setting priorities, and reducing non-essential interruptions in order to complete the job during the allocated time and be responsive to the needs of the Program and Hospital. + Proficient in applicable software applications, including Microsoft Office + Excellent interpersonal skills + Above average organizational skills + Proficient in mathematical and analytical skills as they apply to duties + Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines + Comfortable working in confined or crowded areas + Comfortable working alone or in a team environment
