Beacon Hill Legal is seeking an IP Litigation Assistant for an Am Law 100 firm in Houston. The IP Litigation Assistant will support two Partners and manage a diverse IP litigation portfolio, along with some patent and trademark prosecution. The IP Litigation Assistant will handle docket and practice management, USPTO and court filings, client correspondence, legal research, and routine administrative tasks essential to the attorneys' IP practice. This position requires a strong background in IP litigation, with additional experience in IP prosecution preferred. This opportunity is full time, direct hire, and fully on-site.

Responsibilities:

Oversee a patent and trademark litigation docket, tracking court deadlines, case schedules, and hearings before the PTAB and TTABPrepare and file multi-document USPTO submissions, including Inter Partes Review and Post Grant Review filingsDraft legal documents such as complaints, motions, and discovery requestsOrganize and prepare exhibits, briefs, claim charts, and other essential court documentsSupport attorneys during depositions, hearings, and trialsConduct legal research on intellectual property casesManage non-substantive U.S. docket items, including calendaring, formalities, assignments, and administrative client file managementReview incoming court and USPTO correspondence, prepare client communications, and draft response documents summarizing pending activitiesLiaise with courts, the USPTO, and other tribunals for updatesCoordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate case trackingHandle administrative duties, including processing reimbursement requests, arranging travel, managing conference room bookings, and addressing billing inquiriesMonitor litigation docket reports, facilitate file transfers, and coordinate with external trial support providers such as court reporters, e-discovery vendors, and trial graphics specialists

Qualifications:

6+ years of IP litigation experience, preferably in a high-volume law firm settingParalegal Certificate preferredStrong understanding of IP laws and familiarity with court systems, legal procedures, and protocols,Impeccable proofreading abilities to ensure error-free internal and external communicationsProficiency in Microsoft Word, including advanced formatting, styles, tables of authorities, and tables of contentsStrong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage all facets of an IP Partner's practiceProficiency in Westlaw/LexisNexis and PACER; experience using Docket Navigator is a plusPatent and trademark prosecution experience preferred but not required
