In this position, you will design and build up reliable fixture for Apple to achieve business goals and strengthen our supply chain flexibility and capability. You are accountable for new project development through mass production supply to product launch, and an important bridge between technical and overall supply chain team in order to product delivery successful. DescriptionDescription- In this highly visible role, you will manage design, fabricate & optimization of mechanical fixtures/tools for manufacturing processes for our legendary products. - Apply design experience and work multi-functionally with Product Design Engineering and process owners & equipment supplier to implement your design though qualification process - Work closely with Cupertino-based MDEs in the development of above listed functions. - Work with Global Supply Managers to develop new fixture from RFQ through factory implementation, and manufacture, as well as cost breakdown analysis. - Work with Supplier Quality Engineers to drive fixtures quality and meet all production requirements. - A heavy emphasis will be on working with suppliers to define and refine mechanical tooling and fixtures, and process capability and readiness. - Coordination of activities and direction through clear and effective communication between the Asia and US-based teams, and vendors is a necessity. - You may audit supplier secondary processes as well as support product phase builds from prototype through ramp and mass production. - Drive fixture innovation and low cost design, qualification, decisions though data analysis. - Identify, research, develop, and qualify premier fixture manufacturers and suppliers. Minimum QualificationsMinimum QualificationsEngineering degree (Mechanical) with relevant professional experience.5+ years relevant working experience, esp. in 3C industry.Good written and oral communication skills, fluent in English.Experience in process developing with customized fixturesKey QualificationsKey QualificationsPreferred QualificationsPreferred QualificationsRich working experience of 3D CAD modeling systems and workflow, UG NX preferred.Expert knowledge of drafting best practices and the application of GD&T principles.A thorough understanding of metal and plastic materials science, tribology and wear principles highly desirable.Working knowledge of FEA (stress analysis) highly desirable, ANSYS preferred.Hands-on experience and technical knowledge in fixture design in CNC and assemble process area.A great teammate who is self-motivated, results oriented and detailed oriented.Other process knowledge such as tool design, assy is preferred.On-site build support; must be willing to work from OEM factories.Ability and willingness to work independently and travel frequently (mainly in Asia).Familiar with data analysis software, JMP preferred.Education & ExperienceEducation & ExperienceAdditional RequirementsAdditional RequirementsMore
