Skookum is seeking a driven and motivated Irrigation Technician Lead with a can-do/helpful attitude. The Irrigation Technician Lead performs irrigation and weed control services for facilities, structures, and grounds throughout Fairchild Airforce Base.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Must be proficient in irrigation system maintenance and minor installations
Responsible for irrigation start up and shut down
Irrigation troubleshooting, and repair of irrigation systems
Knowledge of Irrigation backflow system checks
Landscaping and turf management knowledge
Knowledge of irrigation controllers, timers, sensors
Operates various types of machinery
Serve as back up to grounds
Perform work alongside irrigation tech to meet the needs of the contract
Be fully vested in coaching and training of those with disabilities
Develop and maintain positive and effective professional business relationships with management, Quality Assurance Inspector, sub-contractors, co-workers, military and civilian customers, and visitors
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and be well organized insuring that all work and projects are completed professionally and timely
Practice fiscal responsibility and preparedness through adherence to budget, purchasing, stocking, and use of resources
May also be required to work over eight hours in a shift or weekends for operational needs at the discretion of Management
Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED required
3-5 years of preferred experience with irrigation systems
Be proficient (moderate to advanced skill level) in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
Be able to effectively communicate (verbal and written)
Combination of experience and education will be considered
Physical Requirements:
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
Requirements:
A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum’s insurance.
Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
