IS Analyst
Job Description​

​This position provides IT support to assigned systems as a subject matter expert and secondary support to other systems supported by teammates. Position researches and writes technical design specifications, flowcharts, and test scripts. Position acquires and organizes source material including applicable specifications and technical writeups. Coordinates the systems installation with the user department, ensuring satisfactory results. May participate in smaller-scope portions of a larger project as assigned. Works with off-the-shelf systems and modifies features. Responsible for end users’ training on assigned systems, as needed. Works with vendors, depending on systems assigned, on technical requests. Assists with the development and execution of test plans in cooperation with the project team. May also be responsible for report writing in applications. Completes other duties as assigned. 

This position uses defined methodologies in a team environment to perform system life cycle tasks for Epic Willow Ambulatory, Willow Inventory, and Specialty Medication Compass Rose. These tasks include planning, system analysis, solution design, application building/configuration, 3rd party app integration, testing, maintenance, support and the completion of assigned project work. Our analysts work closely with operations to support the IT needs of our ambulatory pharmacy staff and their patients. Having retail pharmacy technician experience is highly preferred.

Associate's degree or 10 years' experience in Healthcare IT in lieu of degree required.

1 Application Certification (or, if not available, equivalent expert knowledge of supported applications) required.

Meets the requirements of IS Analyst I plus the following:

Demonstrates the ability to mentor, cross train and orient junior staff and peers. Interacts with project team to actively participate in presentations and project meetings. Works closely with interface developers for validation and problem resolution of system interfaces. Proficient in problem identification, root cause analysis, and resolutions. Utilizes process improvement for system/workflow optimization. Provides support for the work of peers. Works with software users to identify opportunities for improvement and solutions to business problems using automation. Modifies new application software to reflect approved changes as specified by the users. Identifies dependencies with other applications. Completes tasks of moderate complexity with minimal supervision. Translates customers’ functional requirements into functional specifications for system design and program specifications. Demonstrates a working knowledge of specific processes related to Healthcare Information Technology. Demonstrates an expertise in assigned applications and an understanding of how to integrate applications to create solutions for assigned areas. Initiates process improvement opportunities within IT and with end users. Assesses, identifies and troubleshoots root causes for complicated problems and processes, resolves, and/or coordinates resolutions. Assists to prioritize customer requests. Maintains vendor required certifications. Shares expertise with peers and managers. Assists with the preparation of training materials, knowledge base articles and Tip Sheets and conducts training as needed. Contributes to best practices and routinely shares with end users to improve application and use of technology. Provides project managers with forecast for resource estimates on projects and regularly tracks actual time against estimates. Executes small projects and participates on assigned complex projects. Maintains list of production and project-related application issues. Multitasks and prioritizes tasks with minimal direction. Demonstrates initiative and meets deadlines. Assists in development of training material and assists in conducting training.
