We are a small team with six team members located in various locations. Our team is responsible for Application lifecycle management and evolution activities related to all local applications used in all business departments; we maintain regular dialog with business stakeholders to collect evolution needs, build and execute evolution roadmap and manage IS budget for our application portfolio.

The workplace is in Oslo, and you will be reporting to the PWR Transmission BG Application Manager & Country Business Coordinator Norway.

 

Getting a flying start

To succeed in the IS department, you should have solid experience from the technology industry

 You have experience in managing IS projects and application lifecycle management. You have worked in companies that are project-driven and have performed activities related to IS Application Manager position requirements. You have experience working in an international environment. Ideally your experience is related to software development, support and implementation management, project management, budget management, solution development and data management. You will be comfortable ensuring quality and safety during the projects. You have experience in Microsoft app technologies (including MS Power Platform) and Microsoft productivity tools, as well as knowledge of low code and scripting tools (i.e. M (data load), DAX (low code to generate matrix), Visual Basic for Application) and knowledge about data platforms (i.e. Databricks). You also have solid experience in maintaining a good dialog with business stakeholders, key users, and other IT teams in the company through your natural interpersonal communication skills and customer and service-oriented approach.

How you make an impact

You will work in cross-functional teams as an IS Application Manager and Project Manager or Project IT Lead on various IS projects with focus on digital transformation and IS tools and services development and implementation operations.

To do this you initiate, lead and participate in activities such as defining the strategy and the roadmap, leading the studies and implementation of new solutions and the application roadmap and ensuring technical maintenance and evolution of the tools. By keeping an overview of all tools and projects you will ensure that changes requested by Business are validated, prioritized, implemented and documented. 

 

In addition, you will be comfortable working with standardization of the use of workspaces and official data sources, develop new tools, implement new functionality, optimize tools, organize tests when changes occur and contribute to execution of strategic plans coming from “PWR Transmission Management” . You may also participate in developing efficiencies and take part in technical improvements relevant to our department. You boost your impact by actively promoting Quality and HSE.

 

Your starting point when you join

A degree in Computer Science or related field Five years of relevant Application Management experience In this role, the likelihood of succeeding will increase if you have effective communication and interpersonal skills, an awareness of multicultural differences, and technical competence. As we work with a focus on digital transformation and innovation, it is important to have advanced technical skills and project management skills. At Nexans, we work in teams and are driven by project execution; therefore, being able to collaborate effectively and having effective communication skills is of utmost importance. Fluent in English – oral and written; Norwegian is a plus.
