Pay based on experience   POSITION SUMMARY: The IS Director provides strategic leadership in vendor management, contract negotiations, and large-scale IS project execution, ensuring that technology investments align with business needs. They will oversee staff development, project planning, and process improvements, ensuring IS methodologies, standards, and procedures support both external business objectives and internal IS operations. The IS Director will also act as a key liaison between IS and business leadership, ensuring IS solutions enhance business processes, improve efficiency, and drive measurable value.   PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Leadership & Team Development: Supervise, mentor, and train IS team members, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and execute IS projects effectively. Organize staff and resources to efficiently meet department objectives, ensuring cross-training and succession planning. Develop individual training plans and provide performance feedback, coaching, and professional development opportunities. Foster a culture of collaboration between IS and business teams, ensuring technology decisions align with operational goals. Vendor & Contract Management: Lead contract negotiations and vendor management strategies to ensure cost-effective, high-performing partnerships. Develop, define, and document product and service requirements, ensuring vendor solutions align with business needs. Evaluate vendor proposals and negotiate agreements to ensure best value, performance, and risk mitigation. Manage contract lifecycles, ensuring agreements evolve with the organization's needs and industry trends. Maintain strong relationships with key vendors to optimize service levels and ensure long-term value. Conduct vendor performance reviews and risk assessments to ensure compliance with contractual terms. Strategic Project & Resource Management: Direct and coordinate project management plans, staffing, and resources, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Oversee major IS projects ensuring smooth execution and cross-departmental collaboration. Plan and present strategies for meeting current and future IS needs in a cost-efficient manner. Actively participate in corporate initiatives and strategic planning efforts related to IS development. Business-IS Alignment & Process Optimization: Serve as a bridge between IS and business leaders, ensuring technology investments align with strategic business goals. Analyze, evaluate, and recommend IS solutions that enhance efficiency, improve business processes, and drive measurable value. Collaborate with business teams to identify pain points and propose IS-driven solutions that streamline operations. Work with IS leadership to improve departmental planning, project workflows, and overall efficiency. Provide strategic guidance and professional development for IS managers and their teams. Issue Escalation & Risk Management: Act as the escalation point for critical vendor-related challenges, such as SLA disputes, performance deficiencies, or service outages. Investigate and resolve high-priority issues that could impact business operations, ensuring minimal disruption. Develop and implement proactive risk mitigation plans to address vendor dependencies, security concerns, and operational risks. Standards & Security Compliance: Establish and enforce technical priorities, IS standards, procedures, and development methodologies. Ensure compliance with Menards' IS security policies, implementing measures to protect data, applications, and network resources. Prevent unauthorized access to corporate systems and monitor for potential security threats. Follow and reinforce Menards Values in all IS leadership and operational activities. System Implementation & Support: Coordinate system installations with business user departments, ensuring smooth adoption and minimal operational impact. Ensure adequate systems capacity and processing capability for organizational needs. Provide advanced-level software support for enterprise applications and IS team members. Ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met, and lead efforts to improve system reliability and performance.
