Description
As the IS Network Administrator, you’ll provide support to developing, implementing, and improving the networking and security infrastructure at ChildServe, assisting in security responses, and educating staff on safe computing practices.
What You'll Do
+ Network Management: Configure, deploy, patch and otherwise maintain the devices and software that comprise the ChildServe network. This includes, but is not limited to, firewalls, switches, wireless access points, perimeter security, endpoint security, email filtering, web traffic monitoring, network security, and data protection. Run, terminate, label, and organize cabling and racking as needed to maintain clean and professional network rooms. Analyze, document, and suggest improvements to network design and configurations.
+ Network Documentation: Create, update, and organize network documentation, including but not limited to, IP logs, floorplans, network diagrams, credential vaults, and process and procedure guides. Ensure network devices are enrolled and configured with in our network monitoring system and respond to alerts and anomalies identified. Maintain backups of network device configuration. Develop and implement change management process.
+ Access Control and Troubleshooting: Maintain maximum uptime and connectivity. Troubleshoot downtime and work with vendors to resolve interruptions to service. Work with the Help Desk team to respond to connectivity issues experienced by staff. Troubleshoot, support, and manage the network access control systems and user VPN systems to ensure staff have access to network when and where they need it. Work with staff and vendors to ensure necessary hardware and software can communicate with and on the network and receive the correct VLAN and LAN access.
What You'll Need
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Management of Information Systems, or similar field. Experience may be substituted for formal education.
+ Two years of network administration experience.
+ Cisco Networking certification (CCNA, CCENT, or other recognized security certifications) preferred. Certification may be required within one year of employment.
+ Ability to understand and communicate effectively and professionally in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
+ Ability to work on-site in our Johnston, Iowa location.
