Your role and responsibilities

ABB Electrification is seeking an experienced Information Technology Senior Solution Architect to work in empower’s architecture and platform technologies. As a Solution Architect in the ABB IS organization, you will have the opportunity to work in a high-paced, international environment, solve complex problems, participate in building our IS solution capability and grow together with the rapidly developing business. The IS Solution Architect needs strong application background (.net preferred) to mold and be responsible for the design, implementation of infrastructure / cloud strategies, adopt and find synergies and set the direction when it comes to AWS/cloud components, structures to further enhance and ensure empower continues to grow adopting the latest and newest standards for cloud and composable platform (Microservices, BFF, MACH, api gateways and composable technologies.). Responsible for ensuring that the IS solution/service provides the required functionality and meets the cost expectations of business; collaborates with and contributes to project set-up and delivery as well as servicing Operations. The main responsibilities include: •\tDefines the technical IS solution and ensures alignment with other modules and surrounding IS applications through cooperation and collaboration with IS solution architects across IS delivery units.•\tKeeps knowledge up-to-date regarding new and emerging IS technology and IS industry practices, bringing learning into ABB; all within the scope of the relevant IS solutions•\tProvides guidance to IS project management and IS delivery unit teams on how to utilize IS application/solution standards effectively. •\tDeliver portfolio within defined budgets and committed project timelines.•\tPartner closely with the technology & architecture organization to ensure the eBusiness roadmap and solutions align with ABB’s overall technical strategies.•\tIdentify and manage risks to delivery of the platform including contingency plans to mitigate potential issues.•\tContributes to IS Problem and IS Incident Management goals to address ticket volume by detecting re-occurring defects and eliminating these. •\tProactively supports issue resolution during project delivery to avoid delays or any other form of negative impact to a project or service

Qualifications for the role

At least 4 years of IS Architecture experience in defined technologies and within relevant IS domain Excellent analytical skills and a deep understanding of the overall context of business processes and IS technologies A minimum of 5 years of experience implementing and working on large scale enterprise level applications 5 years of working experience with SaaS software and standard web API system architecture with strong technical skills and applied knowledge in the following areas: .NET Core, ASP.NET, Web API, Windows services, Contemporary web technologies (React.JS, Webpack, Babel.js, Node.js). 5 years of working experience with Cloud Technologies: AWS and AWS services (EC2, SMS, SQS, SNS, Lambda, API Gateway, etc.), Containerization technology experience with Dock-er/Kubernetes, MACH, Composable, headless architectureSignificant experience establishing and maintaining collaborative partnerships with IT peers, functional business teams and external customersProven analytical and problem resolution skills with the ability to assess complex issues with limited informationCollaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sourcesExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex information to IT/Application peers, business teams and external customersAbility to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously with an exceptional focus on qualityOverseeing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps strategies such as code quality, branching control processes and automation.Maintains awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential application on the business’ needs. Ability to communication effectively. Strong Analytical Skills and Attention to Detail.Self-Starter/Self-Learning.
