Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY

The IS Strategy Advancement Advisor is an innovative and forward-thinking leader who advises on our IS Solutions.  This individual is to advance key emerging technologies built around operational efficiency of our technology solutions supporting our care delivery and revenue cycle teams.  The scope of this role will extend from advising on operational approaches to optimizing revenue cycle and care team operations, to recommending strategy management of proposed solutions.  The IS Strategy Advancement Advisor reports to the Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS) Chief Information Officer (CIO) and works closely with the MCHS executive leadership team, the clinical operations leadership team, revenue cycle leaders, and the MCHS IS executive leadership team.

Job Qualifications

EDUCATION

For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Minimum Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Care, Physical Science or a related field. Master’s Degree in Health Administration, MBA or a related field.

Preferred/Optional: None

EXPERIENCE 

Minimum Required: Executive leadership experience. Fifteen years of proven, progressive work experience in clinical care delivery with an IS focus. Demonstrated experience in organizing and coordinating programs and establishing and delivering complex interrelated health IT projects within those programs. Demonstrated leadership ability in a senior management role.  Experience and proven results in delivering health IT projects on time and within budget with expected performance. Demonstrated knowledge of care delivery workflows across the care continuum, including inpatient and outpatient settings. Five years leading the implementation of electronic health record systems and other clinical applications and products. Experience with vendor performance management and contract administration. Experience designing, implementing, and tracking service levels internally and with software vendors. In-depth risk management and organizational change readiness and management experience. Knowledge of hospital state licensing regulations and Joint Commission, and CMS Medicare Provider-Based Billing (PBB), Medicare and Medicaid Electronic Health Record (EHR) Meaningful Use incentive program, Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA), Medicare Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) and Medicare Inpatient Prospective Payment System regulatory requirements as they relate to EHR implementation requirements and operations. Demonstrated knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.

Preferred/Optional:  Experience using lean tools and applying lean principles to daily work and approach to management. Experience using program/project management software MS Project and Eclipse.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES 

The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position.  Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.

Minimum Required:  Current State of Wisconsin Nursing License or similar clinical care license.

Preferred/Optional: Certified Professional in Health Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) certification through Health Information and Management Systems Society.
